Today we had another appointment with Dr. Pophal, Evelyn's cardiologist. It was one of the best appointments we have had in a long time. Pretty much nothing has changed with her heart which he said is a very good thing. Up until 6 months is what he called the "crucial monitoring period" for Evelyn's pulmonary valve. Since babies grow so much in the first 6 months, they monitor to see if the valve is growing as fast as the baby or if it is getting smaller and more closed up. If the valve doesn't grow, that means more procedures, more hospital time, more developmental setbacks, etc. Well, according to the latest echocardiogram, Evelyn's valve is keeping up with her. YEA!!!! Dr. Pophal was impressed with how much she has grown and how happy she is. She is our little wiggler and giggler. We are so happy with the progress that she has made in her short 6 months of life. I was thinking the other day that our roller coaster of doctors started only 11months ago. We hadn't even found out about any problems until January. It seems like so long ago, yet Evelyn seems like she's only a couple of months old. I am so grateful for how well she's doing. She's doing much better than expected. Now if we can just get her to roll over!
Here's a little video of her giggling. She thinks Jacob is SO funny. Here he was just throwing his ball--something he does EVERY day, but this time it was just funnier than the rest.

NO news is good news! We are so happy that Evelyn is doing so well. Very cute video as well. Don't you wonder what makes things like that so funny?
